KEAN junior team success at Dutch Nationals

On the 10 & 11 March the Dutch National Junior Championships took place in Racket Centrum Houten. All future stars of squash were present to battle for the title and KEAN sponsored players Anthony Schwab, Levi Overkleeft and Akysha Reding were to be seen in full action throughout the duration of the weekend.

Levi Overkleeft - Placed a great performance to reach the number 6 place in the under 13′s at only 10 years of age. A bright and promising future.

Anthony Schwab – Seeded 2nd place in the under 13′s he was looking to take a place on the podium but looking it one step further by taking out the the 1 ranked national player in 4 games to take the title. Though exhausted after the game it could still find the energy to bring a big smile to his phase. for his 1st national title.

Akysha Reding – The young and rising star in Holland’s squash was looking to make it clear why she is the national number 1 in the under 13′s. Akysha displayed great control on court throughout the event allowing her to not drop a single game to her rivals. It was simply another great performance in her future promising squash career.

Milja Dorenbos Reaches the top 4 at the Dutch Nationals

Milja Dorenbos proved herself worthy in taking a place in the national team after reaching the last 4 in the Dutch national championships this month. Milja was pleased with her performance though surely would have wanted nothing more than adding a national title to her name. Milja sets her eyes now on the up and coming european team championships taking place the 18-21 March in Marsa, Malta.

As a lead up and good preperation for the up and coming European Team Championships, Milja will be competing in the 2012 Den Haag Open which takes place on the 17th of March at Westvliet Racket centre.

KEAN Squash Tour – PSA & WISPA Den Haag Open

KEAN is proud to announce Den Haag Open in March as part of the Dutch Squash Tour. Both a PSA and WISPA seniors event will take place on the 17th of March at Westvliet Racket Centre. We hope to attract international and National top players to compete. The day will run in conjunction with a recreational event for all categories.

Leading up to this event players are welcome to compete at Squash & Wellness Bussum on the 10th of March. So dont miss out and register yourself at www.squash.nl.

Dutch National Junior Championships

The 2012 Dutch junior National Championships took place in Zoetermeer last week for ages under 11,15,19 years of age. There was many spectacular results throughout the event with great performances by the KEAN sponsored players. Levi Overkleeft missed out by 1 game of reaching the under 11 semi finals but still progressed with a great performance of 5th place.
Akysha Reding age only 12 years of age reached it to the under 15′s final losing in tough 5 set match 8-11 11-8 11-3 10-12 11-7 to Evianne van Leeuwen. Though still very young Akysha kept very composed show alot of experience beyond her years. All viewers enjoyed every moment of the match and was played in a very sportmanslike fashion. However, Akysha will get the chance to perform next month in the girls under 13′s nationals.
Other commending performances came from Neils van Engelsman, Rick Schrijvers van Zenden, Ayk Slettenhaar and Yds Slettenhaar. All players are looking forward to March where they get a another opportunity to show their squash talent on court in the Dutch Nationals under 13,15,17 and 23 years of age.

To all Squashers,

2011 is coming to an end with the festive period upon us with Christmas just around the corner. The past year has been a a great success for KEAN with the Netherlands Tour growing to more than 17 events and 2 international PSA events being added. This making it the largest squash tour in Benelux. I would to take this moment to thank all the loyal squash supporters of the KEAN Squash Tour and look forward to seeing you all in the new year at the opening event of 2012 at Meersquash on Saturday the 21^st of January. In less than begins the 7th event from the KEAN Squash Tour in Houten. A central and vibrant centre with a strong local following headed by owner Marijn Koot. Keeping with the xmas spirit there will be an enjoyable buffet for players after completion. KEAN SQUASH TOUR 2012

The tour will continue in 2012 with the opening event at the renowned centre Meersquash. A strong youthful club with an enormous growth of hollands future talent. New owner Tommy Berdon and local trainer Jason Morris it is surely to have a large following. Following Meersquash the tour make its way totennis- en Squash centrum Nieuwe Sloot inAlphen A/d Rijn. PSA Delft Open 2011

To all squashers,

The International KEAN Delft Open draw has been officially announced this week with players coming from more than 10 different countries including 2 of the rising superstars from Egypt. The 2009 and 2010 Finalist Steve Finitsis from Australia returns and hopes to take it one step further by raising the winning trophy. There will be local competition with four Dutch toppers including hard-hitting Pedro Schweertman and the talented Sebastian Weenink. The pro event commences on the 18^th of November with the semi finals and final taking place on the 19^th in conjunction with the KEAN senior tour.

Having the KEAN Tour move its way to Squash Delft is one of the highlights of the tour. The event is always busy with a great atmosphere including the international squash and finishing with free dinner at the end of the PSA final. With almost 50 entries already there is no doubt that this is event will completely full. So please don’t be late with registration as full is full and remaining players will placed onto the waiting list.

2011 PSA KEAN Delft Open

The KEAN Delft Open begins in less than 3 days with 16 international players representing 11 different countries including such nations as England, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland and Holland just to mention a few. This is world ranking event with a prize purse of $5000 up for grabs. The local contingency comprises of some of Holland’s rising stars including Pedro Schweertman, Bart Travelli, Sebastion Weenink and Sander Van Tour. Two times finalist Steve Finitsis will hope to go one better by taking out the title in 2011. There is sure to be plenty of excitement and great squash. The PSA event begins Friday the 18^th November with semi-finals and final on Saturday 19^th November.

Along side the PSA event the recreational players will compete further in the KEAN Squash Tour 2011-2012. This includes an Italian buffet after the completion of the tournament along with many great prizes in a lottery for all participants. Prizes include such things as squash products, race planet vouchers and more. The main prize being a home air conditioner unit valued at 500 euro. So be quick and register as entries close Wendesday evening and places are filling fast with only a few openings still available. KEAN Squash Tour 2011-1-2012, Sportcentrum Match

To all squash players,

The 1^st tournament from this season got underway the last weekend at Sportcentrum Match. It was a great success with many exciting and long matches. With trying conditions and warm weather it become the survival of the fittest. It was great to see many youth players participating making it tough for our senior players. But eventually age overcame the youth when it came to the finals.
